Ethel M. Compton80, Highland Park Ethel Mae (Conrad) Compton, 80, of Highland Park, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge.
Born in Hancock, MD, Ethel lived in Maryland, West Virginia and Piscataway before settling in Highland Park 10 years ago. She was a homemaker and a very quiet woman who loved her family dearly.
Predeceased by her husband Carl Compton, Sr. in 2004, her son Carl Compton, Jr. in 2006 and, her three brothers, she is survived by her daughter, Linda Spadafino and her husband Dominic of Burlington; her six grandchildren, Lisa Valenzuela, David, Stephanie and Carl Compton, III, Joey Spadafino and Velmarie Torres, and; seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Interment was in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.

Katherine Thompson 80, Edison
Katherine
Thompson, 80, of Edison, died Saturday, June 12, 2010,
in New Brunswick.
Predeceased by her husband, John F. Thompson, Sr., she is survived by her son, John F. Thompson, Jr. of Edison, three sisters, her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at St. Peter's
Cemetery, New Brunswick.

Jose M. Vega 98, Edison
Jose Mario Vega, 98, of Edison, died Monday, June 7, 2010 at
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Born in Pinar
Del Rio, Cuba, Mr. Vega came to the U.S. in 1968 living in Highland Park
before settling in Edison 30 years ago. For more than 40 years, while
living in Cuba, he was a plant manager for Warner Lambert
Pharmaceuticals. After coming to the U.S., he continued to work for
Nanni's Food Store in Highland Park, retiring in 1990. Together with his
wife, he was a member of the Lindeneau senior citizens center of
Edison. He was also a long time communicant of St. Paul's Church,
Highland Park.
Predeceased by seven of his siblings, he is survived
by his wife of 70 years, Serafina (Fuentes) Vega of Edison; his
daughter, Marta Vega of Edison; his brother, Pablo Vega of West Palm
Beach, Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation was private with inurnment in
Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.
